May 4, 2011 -- First Wednesday Wine Tasting

Join us for the First Wednesday Wine Tasting held each (first Wednesday) of the month (May 4th). Six wines are sampled -- three whites and three reds -- along with hearty appetizers. The cost is $15 per person, which includes the wine, food, printed tasting notes, and special disounts on wines. Always a good time.
This month we will be tasting flipflop wines (They're flippin' good!). On the list is Moscato, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet, and Pinot Noir. California wines, they are poised to be the wine industry's #1 Brand Launch of 2011. flipflop wines will donate $1 per bottle sold to Soles4Souls, who will donate a pair of flipflops to someone in need.
The food is always delicious...AND always decided at the last minute. We'll post the menu in the next day or so. An RSVP isn't mandatory, but helpful so that we know how much food to prepare. 252-335-1163

April 29, 2011 -- The Joe Gosman Band


Self described as alternative pop rock with a southern rock feel, The Joe Gosman Band will come alive on Friday Night at City Wine. These guys are pretty famous in this region, playing at hot spots such as The Jewish Mother, Scotty Quixx, Chesapeake Jubilee, and (of course) good ole City Wine in Elizabeth City. April 15, 2011 -- Next Weeks Blues

Next Weeks Blues will be the band of the evening on Friday night. You may have enjoyed them at the August 24th Music on the Green at Mariners' Wharf. They play a mixture of Blues, Old School Soul, Reggae, and Rock. Their influences range from Etta James to Robert Johnson to the Three Kings (Freddie, Albert, and B.B.). At the helm is singer, Linda Farley accented by the lead licks of guitarist, Dennis Lighthart. And it’s all bound together by the rhythm section, bassist, Michael Huffman and drummer, Tom Williams. April 8, 2011 -- EZ Malone

Known for his "red-hot and rocking, cutting edge, electric blues in the tradition of the masters," EZ is a two-time Apollo performer and specializes in blues and oldies (but goodies, of course). He is an entertainer in the truest sense of the word, playing hits from Albert Collins, BB King, Freddie King, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Jimi Hendrix. He's been featured on UNC-TV's Piedmont Blues segment. He performs regularly at the Outer Banks. EZ will entertain from 7-10 pm.
